OK, don't make fun of me for this…
But I'm a marketing geek.
I love checking out everything that's working in 2020… from great website design, conversational email copy, virtual interactive elements, and MORE, there are so many toys to play with if you're a marketing nerd like me.
But there's one marketing method that isn't new.
It works better. Faster.
And anyone can be using it TODAY to grow (or even launch) their business.
(In fact, when I was just starting out, I spent 71% of my time doing this.)
Speaking.
This is the way I built my business in record time. Before I had the support of a team, I spent about a huge chunk of my marketing time looking for speaking opportunities- and it paid off in a major way.
You can do the same thing. Virtual speaking opportunities are everywhere- you just have to do a little digging.
If you're struggling to find gigs, try some of these tips:
Spend time looking.
You must spend quality time researching places to speak. If you are a career coach for women, you might Google the following: Women's organizations, career associations, churches, social clubs. You're not limited by location since most gigs in 2020 are going to be virtual, so keep that in mind!
Fortune is in the follow up.
Email or call any contact you find with an initial request and let them know you will be following up. Then, call back appropriately until you get an answer. This is crucial to getting more gigs- most people fail in the follow up!
Your title is everything.
When you land your first speaking gig, you will write that speech very quickly. Your primary focus should be going after the opportunities first and crafting the message second, but you should have a great title ready. A killer title is one with specifics! Here are some great examples:

Speaking can build your list fast, get people to know, like, and trust you on the spot, and close the sale without selling. Get ready, go out, and speak!
